The plan was for Nissa to get beaten and join Sorin on the Exile farm, and the two would somehow learn to cooperate. But I couldn’t think of a way in which that would happen quickly. So I made the Exile farm owner (aka “Swords to Plowshares Guy”) into a powerful character who could force their cooperation, and changed the story somewhat.
The second strip references the card “Journey to Nowhere”. Yes, I know in the game rules Sorin can’t be affected by Journey to Nowhere, but it’s a better sight gag than Oblivion Ring.
Damn. She’s really, really cute.
Um, you need Oblivion Ring, not Journey to Nowhere if you want to exile a planeswalker…
Is Nissa training Sorin what’s good to eat and what’s not in the last panel, a la Prof. M Church?
The promo art with the implied Neesa/Sorin makes more sense now…
(I just realized… is that farmer a retired Urza?)
@jpmeyer: Hush, don’t ruin the otherwise brilliant pun with logic!
Draw moar!
Farm guy is real oldschool.
I bet he casts summon spells.
I LOLed as usual. You could have used the pig to insert another magic reference – like having to eat a goblin guide or something (yes, goblins are not sentient creatures for Sorin and Nissa).
