I’ve started on the sprites for Muffin’s game.
They looked fine to me, until I tried to flipbook them.
It quickly became obvious that the dimensions of the bike and the position of the rider’s legs were not consistent across the frames.
I blame my not doing any animation since 2005. Oh well, I’ll fix this over the weekend.
It’s not so bad, dude 😛
I had to try really hard to find the discrepancies you mention. They look pretty darn good.
Yeah … I still say having more than one “turning” sprite is overkill. It’ll save me some work, too, for that matter, as far as where I’m planning on going with this … Maybe if you try to just tilt it instead of rotating it. Are the rocket trails going to be animated as well, now that I think of it?
Also, just so you know, I googled “villainmad” just now, and Index of /stealth/villainmad was the first result after stuff from my site, and “Index of /stealth” was the next one after that, it might be useful to put a blank index.html in there. Or possibly an index.php with some sort of rudimentary login-thing so only people you want to can get at them.
I put semi-blank index.html pages into those folders.
It looks a lot better than the graphics in the Tohou games, that’s for sure!
Hmm. I’m also a bit worried that it might be a bit big at the moment (I’m going to be doing the same size as a Touhou game) … but, easy enough to resize I guess.
