Love in Space: Event CG in stages

Stage 1: Sketch (~1 hour)

Stage 2: Line art (~16 hours)

Stage 3: Basic colors (~5 hours)

Stage 4: Lighting (~12 hours)

Stage 5: Accessory (~6 hours) (Click picture for larger version)

Note that the times in the lineart and lighting, while they will still remain the most time-consuming parts of the process, should be slightly quicker in the future. The initial lineart was riddled with errors that took forever to fix (use a program to flip the Stage 3 image horizontally and you’ll see), and the lighting took a long time because we were deciding on the coloring style. Each subsequent event CG should take 20-30 hours, which means a turnaround of two weeks working 10-15 hours a week.

  1. I like the dice!

My only problem is that the sleeping loli is leaning against something that isn’t there. She would fall over and her head would hit that flower pot.

But I think it’s a gorgeous picture, nonetheless.

  2. Oh, wait a minute! The shoulder harness is holding her up! Never mind…

  3. This is so pretty! :)
But I have no idea how you have the patience to spend more than 30 hours in a single image… @_@
At least the result is great :)

  5. Hah! You mean 50 000 words and counting as of today.
