The owner of the small company I work for decided to have us do a project for charity, and made it a higher priority than our usual projects. The result of that was that we fell behind on the work that people were actually paying us for, and so both Saturday and Sunday this past week myself and other developers had to show up for 9-to-5 workdays in the office to get caught up.
And, on top of that, I spent about 4 hours this week hanging with a light music band when I really should have been working on the male character sprites. I hope lolikit doesn’t fire me.
Anyway, I continued working on CCY’s sprite, trying alternative coloring.
That didn’t work so well, did it? I decided to complete the picture in the original coloring style.

I’ll start on the other character sprites, seeing as they seem to be higher priority than the backgrounds. If the style I used for CCY is acceptable, then I should be able to complete one character at the end of Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this week, provided my office work doesn’t go into overtime again. Important characters like lolikit, Jason, B.Raptor, and Owen have priority over secondary characters like I.Knight, D.Mirage, and Os.
Awesome, good to see this progress. And yes, go ahead with the other characters if you like. The current look is fine. (BTW, good call on making CCY’s hair pink. Also, good call on giving Baka-Raptor the raptor tattoo. I like that you’re making some informed decisions of your own in the character designs.)

wait….is CCY supposed to be a guy or a girl in this game? You can’t put pink hair on a guy and except him to not be a trap or something. In addition the only pink hair acceptable on a guy is one who will be an uke in a yaoi game or something….at least make it lilac or purple or something >>

For some reason, I think the first picture of CCY’s better. All you need to do is ease up on the blur tool and only use it when necessary… kind of like the picture of Mikan on the blog post above this. (But I suppose you already know all of this. =w=)
Both colouring styles are fine, but I myself use the first one. Except, don’t blur the shading on sides, merely on the ends. (The SAI ‘marker’ or the Photoshop ‘Airbrush’ tools are what I mean [and use]).
I find him cute. Yes, you can’t really tell its gender, but one’s sure: it’s really ‘mega megane moé’! ^__^
That’s pretty good actually. I can’t color for beans, which is why I only stick to sketching. I like the progress you’re making with the characters. Ganbare! =3
